Ruby Fern (Clinebell) Williams-Jones January 29, age 98. Ruby was born in Nebraska, the fifth of six children. She is predeceased by siblings Margery, Frieda, James, Ruth and Ray. Her family moved to Oregon in the 1930s where she attended high school. She met her husband, James Richard Williams, while working for the United States Navy in Hawaii during World War II. They married in 1946 and had three children, Terry, Thomas and Nancy. Thomas died tragically in 1959. Ruby and Jim moved their family to Salem, Oregon, in 1970. She was a fearless adventurer who loved traveling, camp outs and making huge feasts for family and friends. Ruby was always an ardent fan at her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting and school events. Her husband, James, passed away in 1981. Most recently, Ruby was a resident of Sweet Bye and Bye care home. She also lived at Providence Place and Willson House. She is survived by two children, Terry (Kathy) Williams and Nancy (Peter) Schneider, five grandchildren, John Williams, Michelle Williams, Rebecca Schneider, Sabrina Wichhart and Alexander Schneider, and four great-grandchildren, Mailyn, Natalie, Jack and Lorelei. A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, July 14, from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Union Hill Grange, 15775 Grange Rd SE, Sublimity, OR.
